The Center for Academic Advising and Student Support is staffed by an Advising Coordinator, a Teacher Licensure Specialist, a half-time Receptionist, a Professional Academic Advisor and Graduate Students who serve as academic advisors. The graduate students are completing master's degrees that lead to careers in the helping professions. Graduate students who serve as advisors are typically hired for a year-long employment in the Center and must go through an extensive training program prior to assuming their advising responsibilities. Advisors in the Academic Advising Center are available to assist any student. The Center is located in Peters Hall, room A104. Center hours during the fall and spring semesters are 8:00 am until noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday. | ||
![]() Lauren Thomas - Assistant Academic Advising Coordinator- Ms. Thomas works with students who are having problems meeting program requirements, new transfer students and all Exercise, Sport, and Health Education Freshmen. She is available to meet with any student interested in changing their major to one in the College and also meets with prospective students interested in RU and the College. |

She is also available to assist any student who: has an interest in and wants to learn about any program in this college, needs clarification about academic policies and procedures, wants to learn about pursuing a teacher preparation program, and has other questions about programs, policies, or requirements. |
